New wheels are well nice. :tongue_smilie:

I managed to do 430miles on 80 quids worth of fuel. And when we wern't in traffic we were flying (only at 70mph of course officer)!

Wicked day though! Defo up for the next one, but think we might get a hotel next time LOL!

With the new wheels you should get slightly better fuel consumption on the motorway as they are bigger the engine has to rev less for the speed - though of coures only makes a difference at high speeds.

Also as a word of warning they also bring your actual speed closer to the speedo reading - i.e when it reads 90 on the speedo you are doing 87 rather than the previous 81ish

That's down to the tyres, not the wheels though, isn't it ? What size tyres are on those wheels ? Sounds like not quite the ideal size ? Sorry if I've got the wrong end of the stick though.

You are correct Steve it technically is the tyres. They have 225/40/18s on which have a larger diameter than the stock 215/45/17s. However IMO they are the best fit as 225/35/18s are actually smaller than the stock tyres and the ride comfort is quite harsh!

225/40/18 compared to 215/45/17 is only a difference of 1.9% (bigger) in terms of the overall circumference of the tyre. So when you were doing an indicated 90 on the speedo, using the 17s, and actually perhaps that was 81 in reality, if you switch to those wheels/tyres then you will actually be doing 82.5mph, by my calculations.

Using 225/35/18s would be 1.7% smaller, so pretty much the same difference but the other way.

When you're doing 90 on the speedo you're actually doing 81? I'm pretty sure my car isn't that far out - think it's about 3-4mph over what the actual speed is.

That's odd, same tyre size as the styling kit alloys so they should just go straight on, do they have a different offset then?

you sure it not all the weight you had in the back

More to the Point - where was the scrubbing coming from Front or Back
