Such a difference between the standard one and the 330 one - the car actually looks like it wants to shake free and escape the rollers:thumbup1:

great video and a lot of power. I also like that everything looks OEM, no sign of tuning

Hi guys, ok, the time has come to see exactly what a std 1gfe engine will absorb in terms of torture before it screams enough. All be it with a turbo on. If you have been following this thread you will know that we started with a totally std engine with near star ship mileage on it. This, has developed into a bit of a mission(thanks to some of you) to prove or dis prove whether a std is200 1gfe engine will develop more than 200hp without most of the bits on the inside ending up on the outside and me having to get Jamie to drive the dustpan and brush round the dyno room picking up smouldering lumps of japanese iron and alloy. This is not to prove anyone right or wrong, but to try and help provide others with inside info as to what may work with these engines and what may not. I unlike most tuners believe categorically, absolutely nothing I am told. That way I try not to get misled by supposed truths, myths or Hans Christian Anderson stories. So, when the dyno is available later this week, we will turn the boost up to 1.2bar at which point I expect IRO 360/370HP much above this we may need a rethink regarding the turbo spec as the efficiency will start to drop like a stone I think. (we aimed @ 300hp remember) The goal this time is to push on to as near 400hp as we can get without opening the engine up. For this level I envisage 1.5bar being required. If it turns out that the motor fails I will be the first to want to know why, and how easily and cheaply can it be prevented for others doing their own conversions in the future. As you know 550hp is the aim but to be honest we always knew we would need some rods and pistons that were not made by the Cadburys family so we could spin it fast enough, reliably. We have more than halved the gap already without opening the lower half of the tool box but from now on........................ time will tell. Ike
