Needing a new LCD TV advice needed
I work for a point of sales IT logistics and repair company, But because we have long standing connections with a big TV repair company we also do quite a few collections and delivery's from private addresses for them. From this I've seen plenty of common faults with particular brands, And there's a few makes that I wouldn't even use as a bl00dy door stop.
For my money, I'd always go for LG or Samsung. It's not just the quality of what you buy, it's also down to how well they treat customers when they (Rarely) have a problem.
There's one company (One that would spring to mind when you think of top end, high quality TV's) that I feel is now just trading on the name they made when they were making video cameras and "Non VHS" VCR's (That didn't give the brand away did it?). I haven't seen anything from them that I would let into my home for quite a few years now. To cap it off, they seem to have a "We've already got your money..... Why would we trouble ourselves with your equipments problem now?" attitude to customers. They also make the customer jump through so many hoops that the only possible explanation would be that they're hoping most will give up and stop complaining.
So, My general advice is that your not just buying a piece of equipment, Your also buying the after sales care....... And some after sales service isn't worth the INK, Let alone the paper they're written on.
Hope that helps you choose what to get.

The fix for that is to get Sky multiroom!
As for the cables, you could do them all neatly to one of these I suppose

But to be honest, if it's in a cupboard then no one's going to see them anyway?
I know that is a fix John the multi room but thats an extra £10 a month or so to sky and I'm not doing that
And the wall speakers are on ebay for a starting bid of £400 , I think thats for two but not 100% positive .
Thanks for the link toxo , thats the kind of thing that would keep it all nice and tidy .

just on a side note sky now sell single feed hd boxes with no hard drive they are tiny boxes just bigger than a router box now, the idea sort of replaces the magic eyes meaning you put the single feed box linked to the dish in your bedroom, kitchen etc, and you can stream any recoreded programmes through a local network from the box in the living room into the bedroom or wherever and have access to anytime+.
Thats another option for the sky, good shout mate .
Any ideas about cables folks ?
Hi Rabster , I've had a quick measure and I'm needing 2 HDMI Cables at 10 meters and basically any other ones that you think I should also fit at the length. But the problem is I'm going to need them asap . Is this ok with you ?
