I have not got the standard filter and box to put back on Spike.
But might just take the HKS filter off the induction kit and see if that works
standard fuel??cared: put some vpower(higher octain) in it and give it a good blast a higher octain fuel will burn cleaner.
go take your filter off get a bucket of hot soapy water and wash your filter(paint brush is good for cleaning it mate)and leave to dry over night job done.hows the filter looking is it dirty or when did you last clean it?

I hate to say it, but I wonder if your main cat has gone. If so, could be a good excuse for a sports cat/hi-flow cat ?
I don't see how playing with the induction etc is going to affect the amount of CO coming out of the exhaust, but I'm happy to be educated

Moley Well I would have thought that the more air getting into th engine would affect the amount of CO coming out the exhaust. But I could also be wrong :Chair:I don't profess to know much about it, but the engine can sense how much air is coming in and fuel accordingly, which is why I didn't think it would make any difference. I could be wrong too.
Quote:If the cat had gone surely the engine management light would be on ?????If it had gone far enough then yes. I don't know what the threshold is for the light to come on though, perhaps it can go bad enough to fail an MoT but not bad enough to turn the light on ? I will take a look in the technical manual. But hopefully it's not that bad. As others have said, getting it nice and hot should help. If it doesn't though, then it does sound like the cat has gone to me.
