What about the UV ? I think that some coating is necessary after polishing, otherwise the UV radiation from sunlight will age the polycarbonate soon (within months, depending on the sunlight intensity of your location)...I am about retrofitting my IS200 headlights and I also searched for some way to make them clear again...but I found that there is not much to do at the DIY level in order to protect the polished polycarbonate against UV.
