Phil01 Fairy liquid for me, its the work you put in it after that gives the results

phil you dont do you? the work your putting in after is twice as much work for yourself as it oxidizes and scratches paint to peices, meaning more swirls and scratches to polish out, even switching to some cheap halfords car shampoo will give you much better results mate

I'm in between shampoo's right now.

Dodo Juice Super Natural - good lubricity but suds die too quickly and I do like my suds.

Merguiars NXT - more suds but dries too quick.

Fairy liquid is as good as the cheapo shampoo's from halfords,
The salt content is in so minute concentrate it is not worth worrying, once you rinse it not even a problem, but the salt is added as a water softener and will aid rinsing.
There is no abrasives added to fairy so no swirls will be produced.
It can not oxidize as no harmful chemicals are added, it would not be allowed by UK H&S laws as it is intended for hand submersion.

Simple little test is wash a dirty Glass in a normal fairy mix and let it dry naturally, it should come out sparkly clean

Before I got heavily into car detailing I'd happily wash a car with fairy liquid if nothing else was available. I can't say I noticed any detrimental effects, and I'd imagine that any salt in Fairy would dissolve in hot water before it would have a chance to scratch anything.

The only reason I wouldn't use it now is that it is known to strip wax a lot quicker than car shampoo's which are generally formulated to be wax safe or add additional layers of wax.

Other than that I wonder how economical it is squirt for squirt vs car shampoo? May even be more cost effective to buy a 5L tub of car wash and use it to do the dishes Smile

I use the turtle wax stuff you get from costco, Its about £15 for 25 litres. Best stuff I have used.

Mum picked me up some triplewax stuff from Asda and it was total ****, Left streaks everywhere and hardly got any foam from it!

Yea but then you would have to use a two bucket method to do your plates and there is not many sinks big enough for that.
