lol no not at all, i just dont know if its necessary, im not going to take the wheel if if i dont need to.
I would say it is very necessary. Plus, if you decide to do it in future, you will loose most of your oil in doing so!
I too have trouble jacking up cars, as the front of my house is on a steep hill, and the back is very uneven and on gravel. My Land Rover has fallen off the jack more times than I care to remember, due to off road tyres/suspension I need a 60" HiLift jack to get the wheels off the floor (yes - it lifts to 5 foot or 1.5m in new money!) and when 2.5 tonnes of truck drops from that height, you don't wanna be underneath it! So I know the hassles it can cause. Worth it though.
One other thing to mention, I recently used a product to help me drain the oil. I can't think of the brand, sorry, but you pour it in the oil filler cap with the engine warm, let it run a minute, and it helps the oil to drain out faster and more completely. Engine flush, or something similar. Might be worth a go at a couple of quid.
EDIT: THIS STUFF (Though I didn't pay that much for it.)
ive seen that before and there are mixed reviews, some say that it loosens all the **** in the engine and it starts to drop off whilst the engine is running and causes problems. Not sure if i should risk it or not

Engine flush is against service guidelines for many car manufacturers - check out this site, then decide if you want to risk those things.

Interesting mate.
I will check with my mate how and when they do use it. As that article specifically mentions Nissan a couple of times. Though that is in the US and not the UK, but I am not sure how that effects things. (Obviously the theory is the same, but official advice may potentially differ?)
What I didn't mention, is that neither of the times I have used it was on a Lexus! And one car had been parked up 18 months. But personally have not had any problems.
Another point in that article is injector cleaner. Red-X actually recommend you use it in EVERY tank of fuel, if you read the directions on the label. I know it is their product, but can they give that advice if it is damaging?
IMHO its just a company getting you to spend money on something that is not needed - if it was needed it would be in the service schedule.
