@ toxo
just a quick one mate what would i have to do to get wireless down there as this connection is comming off a virgin wireless router, i dout just hooking up a wireless router the other end will work ?
You don't want a router as routers make connections between 2 different networks and you want all your stuff in your house and your shed on the same network. You want a wireless access point.
Some routers can just be switched into access point mode through the web interface, but usually the ones the ISPs give you don't allow that sort of thing.
I specified one of these for a job at a remote office recently. Set it up as a standalone access point, with the same name, security type, and passphrase as your current wifi network and job done! 2 yr manufacturer warranty too.

Just to be clear, I wasn't suggesting to use that particular device as a range extender as that won't work in the OPs case. To function as an extender you have to have some overlap in the wireless coverage from the ISP router and the access point, which I don't think is the case here. It might work in your case, though.
The OP should use the device as a standalone access point due to the lack of overlap. All NAT & DHCP functionality will be taken care of by the ISP router.
Cheers toxo for the link
just had a brain wave ive got a Linksys wrt54gs sitting at work i was just reading through this here do you think it will work as i just have it lying about (took it with a lot of stuff from a company who owed us money when they went bust).
