Tweaking the bootlid to pop-up?
Tweaking the bootlid to pop-up?
P.Lindblom I'm not sure if I'm able to explain this in English but I'll try.
The whole spring mechanism is kind of confusing but the only thing it does is pushing against the "arm" that opens the boot lid. Pressure from the spring is always applied which means it weakens over time.
This is what the spring does, or at least tries to do
If you put a spacer between the spring and the "arm" the tension is increased and the boot lid will open up completely. Make sure the spacer isn't too big or your boot will fly open a lot faster than you'd want.
If you want to test this method before you make or find a spacer you can just insert a screwdriver between the spring and the arm.

I'll take some pic's tomorrow mate, i'll try and make a video and put that up.
do you have to do both sides or just 1
I did one side and it worked, but i just did the other side to even things up.
Yesterday I just put a 6mm bolt where I said you could and this is the result:

You might also want to add something to "catch" the boot lid when it becomes fully open, so that it won't bounce back. I'm thinking a bit about if these could be used: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/30124693
