IS200 Se mk2!!!!
IS200 Se mk2!!!!
Ive gone down the route of a HKS and k&n induction kit with gains of approx 12-18 bhp,
which is slightly less than your figure if you take into account engine sizes in percentage wise, but that has only cost me £300, like you will keep you posted of the drive-ability once fitted.
Possibly, I have got plenty of time to research it,
The Uni-chip was recommended by the chap who is going to map it.
Not aiming to high this time round. This missis is thinking about getting a bigger family car, so no point me having something so big. So might get a MX-5 or 350z............
James in my opinion it's not worth paying for NA mapping to be done. All you are going to do is smooth the power out rather than get any noticeable gains. The tuner will most likely promise more than they can deliver so if he is saying 10-15Bhp then it will be around 10. Unfortunately you will not notice the increase as it is less then 10%. Your fuel consumption will probably get worse as well. Also with the car's ECU being self learning you will have probably have got 5 out of the 10Bhp by just fitting the mods anyway.
Doesn't Moley have a premapped Unichip for sale anyway? Will save an awful lot of money if your mind is set on it.
Ive been looking at 300's and I've got a turbo! Just can't get passed the auto box But also been looking at Mazda 6 MPSs - manual 2.3 turbo 260Bhp mappable to 290-300 and 4wd
But would need finance which I have avoided so far with cars.
as you know the autotrans is an intelligent unit and is always in the right gear at the correct throttle opening, in power mode I have full control of shift points and can hold it to the red line and change gear as easily as a manual. In some situations I find it more quicker and responsive than a manual, eg, at roundabouts/junctions and just general overtaking, then you have the added bonus of e-shift,
your making it worse Phil! Im missing the 2 extra cylinders
My problem is I wouldn't buy one without TTE or "TRD" kit on though as I remember the cost of retro fitting it to my old Lex. There aren't any saloon 300's with either on for sale under 100 miles away from me that meet my criteria which is lucky as i'd be getting itchy feet lol.
There's 1 with 98k miles and while I know they are rock solid its too high for me. Plus Ive only had the Cupra less than a year.
