toxo LS400 is push pedal on, pull lever off :thumbup1:
How weird is it they did that for a while and then changed it? Maybe it was confusing americans, as american cars generally have the push on push off system :laugh:

On the auto Mercs I think the parking brake works ok, I test drove a manual C220CDI- its a bit tricky trying to do a hill start in that as there is no hand brake lever (even though there is a system called hill assist?) on the manual mercs.
And besides if you have a Merc its got to be an auto
