P.Lindblom I would gladly swap mine for yours but if I were you I'd definitely keep those lovely Rays Smile

Edit: Actually they are both Rays :tongue_smilie:

That really does look seriously awesome mate, well done for persevering with getting them sorted!

Are wide tyres worse in the wet though? Our Merc has 275s on the rear and even with more power doesn't have any less grip than the IS? (Obviously realise they are completely different cars and there are a million other factors at play :tongue_smilieSmile

Cheers mate.

I would assume that tyre width and wet performance would go hand-in-hand with the weight of the car and the weight distribution?

For example, if you've got the junk in the trunk to 'push' the tyre onto the road and displace the water then you could probably go for a wide tyre without any problems.

However, in my experience the IS seems to have a pretty light back end (especially in the IS300), so I'm guessing there's not enough weight to push the rear wheels down onto the road in wet weather?

Yep I'd agree the back of the IS is a bit light, I ran for a little while with no spare and it was awful!

Yep I was having trouble with the distinct lack of power the IS200 has so with your car it must be a million times worse!

If your wheel well is empty I'd highly recommend putting a wheel back in there as if mine is a fair comparator it makes such a big difference to the way the car feels Smile

You'll need to find another matching wheel to complete the set though Jim... and get it refurbed to match the colour/bolts etc so that if you need it it doesn't look ****

I see now why you are :crying:
