thanks alot for your reply! Is there anywhere i could find photos or diagrams with more details? I read what you said 4 times and i don't think i'm confident or experienced enough to carry out the task just with those pointers... also, are new globes needed?

cheers!

I'll rephrase actually, because i understand most of what you said so i'm not a completely lost cause : so i realise i need a new bulb obviously > so i assume the dual filament bulb holder has two live and one earth, yes?

Which colour would the live dull for number plate wire be, which colour wire is the earth, and which colour should the live bright for fog wire be?

Sorry if it seems a silly question, but i am in need of help so i don't stuff anything up. Thank you!

NB i'll just be doing this on the trunk lid, not going to bother doing it from behind the back seat

Hi everyone, I need some help please.

Now I've done the fog to brake light mod but I've done it on the boot hinge and it all works fine Smile I've started to do the fog to tail light mod, I've wired the black-red wire to the green-black wire on the licence plate light, but I'm not getting light when just the lights are on but the fogs and brake light works fine?
Have I done something wrong?

Thanks

Do you mean the diodes? Yes, direction is vital.

That's correct. I actually just noticed one of my pictures in the first post shows the diodes turned the wrong way. Here's how they should be connected:
