It's not quite perfect yet I still have a few things I need to finish but it's in and working, next on the cards is to tidy the wiring and sort out the look and feel of the UI.

There is a kernel you can download (I assume you are Android) that is good for car use. I'll have a look when I get home tonight for ya.
Never mind, I see it's a IPad
And its also the reason why it took so long to get right, and although i'm not a big apple fan in this case it was the tablet that ticked all the right boxes in terms of fitment and functionality, that being said, its by no means perfect, eg: there are no apps that i can use to automate specific system functions like tasker in Android, ie: I would like to be able to set power sense task so that when the car is on the ipad gets a charge it wakes up or switches on, and of course switches off or goes to sleep when power is shut off.
I'd also like to switch on things like blue tooth and wifi with similar tasker functions.
But for not i can live with it. and looks and sound really good. I do however need to replace the digitizer again because this one is cracked and is creating dead spots in the touchscreen function. but i'll sort that out next month when i get my car back from the body shop

Thanks guys, strangely enough the ipad actually fits like it was designed to be fitted into the legacy dash, every other tablet with android or windows for that matter was to wide (as in wide screen format).
