Its not a fun job, and it is very fiddly. Worst bit is making sure you dont split the new seals trying to get them seated and the metal ring in place. For me its not a choice i have, i dont have the money to buy brand new calipers, so i have to rebuild them. Although i have found an mr2 in a breakers just down the road, so if it doesnt work i will be calling in there first

Dark Samurai Mate use my thread on the refurb Smile

Thing with your thread is there are no pics. Everyone likes pics. Plus you pushed the pistons out while still on the car which is great, providing you dont have a seized piston.

Ah your talking about the wheel refurb thread, sorry i was confusing it with the caliper refurb, but that wasnt you.

The wheels should be easy enough, i am going to get them acid dipped to clean them off and save a bit of work. Then a little bit of filler and some paint. I have a compressor and spray gun, so i will do them properly. Hopefully for the end of may, so that when i get paid i can buy new tyres

The fins are put on with epoxy and the fins are in a strip right across the Radiator.

How is the engine tempature?

The calipers are about £90 a corner from brakes international... after I had spend about a month solid rebuilding my brakes and they were still **** I just bit the bullet and went down that route instead!

The foglights can be removed without taking the bumper off but for the love of god don't! The screws they attach with are made of monkey metal and will just disintegrate. You'll end up having to drill them out, and you get into this chicken and egg situation where you have to get on the back of the foglight mounts to get a nut on but you can't because they attach to the bumper bar. You can do it if you take the bumper bar off but 2 of the bolts for the bumper bar are behind the foglights...

If you do replace your radiator make sure you use one from a UK car not an import. The rad switches are different and not interchangeable, and your fans will run all the time if you fit the wrong one. Don't be lured into the '2 fans are better than 1' train of thought... (import rads have 2 fans)
