Tools wise, Socket set, spanners, rachet spanners are always helpful.
Take LOTS of Pictures and i mean LOTS!
make sure you know what nuts and bolts go where. a good method is to tape them into the holes they came from (ie when removing alternator etc)

big can of wd40 or bolt and rust remover spray and a kettle for the tea. faster to make it in the garage than running into the house
