I've only ever had a brief drive in an MX-5 once but I thought it was quite a decent little car to drive, it's not my thing and I doubt I'd buy one but this seems a little harsh (and the comments seem to agree).........

Not a fan of them myself - thats why I have an MR2. However they are fun to drive at legal speeds.

They are cheap to run unlike the MR2 turbo and of course if you crash one its cheap to repair!!

Everyone is welcome to their opinions and i know people don't like them. Personally i love mine to bits, never felt this way over the lexus, don't get me wrong i loved the lexus but just wasn't a great driving car.
The mex is slow compared to some other cars out there but for the fun factor its great. Sounds like pure evil when you give it some beans and handles like on rails. Im yet to start sorting out the braces/roll bars etc but with the geo done and lowered slightly its so much fun to drive.

I've owned an mx5 (standard 1.6 version) and never had so much fun behind the wheel, while they are not the quickest sports car they are great to drive especialy on the B roads (here in the sw there are alot of B roads), I think they are a great affordable sports car. (that is if you are not over 6ft tall).
