The flywheel is fine, the clutch plate was well abused, the cover plate (with the springs) had a broken spring or two, and the bearing was in several pieces........

I have had to transport the car back to TGT as it is not drivable, they are on holiday till next week, so no idea when I will see her again.

The fault lies at TGT's feet because they failed to modify the nose cone properly, they extended it but the release bearing could not slide back up the shaft smoothly and it got locked in a semi in/on position, the result was a permanently slipping clutch, and the other resulting damage.

Not a happy IS owner at the moment, but teething problems happen with complete engine conversion projects especially unique ones like this.

Feel for you mate, shame you've been having problems. But as you say, given the unique and untested nature of this conversion, some problems are sadly inevitable.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

Photo of the nose cone. You can clearly see the original part at the back of the shaft and the extra collar that TGT put in to extend it. It looks like there were some weld makes on it (can't see them clearly on this photo though!!) but they have clearly given way. The bearing slipped behind the collar and got stuck in place. Pictures tell a thousand words.

Finally an update.....

The car WAS back together after modding the release bearing etc.. but there is a vibration from the clutch enough to vibrate the clutch peddle, regardless if it is pressed or not. TGT think the new uprated clutch plate MAY have been put in the wrong way round? so it all has to be stripped down again to find out. Great another week+ off the road. and it still needs an MOT and fuelling sorting out.

Question: Can a clutch plate be put in the wrong way around? and will that cause this vibration issue??

I dont think it canbbe put the wrong way round.

But if its vibrating it may be massively warped?

New clutch, I suppose a new one could be faulty? Or the flywheel has been warped.
