No tea and cakes - to quote the man himself when I texted him to say thanks for sorting it out, he was:
Ormi's text message Up to my *** in an old bucket of ****!! I defo pulled the short straw.....

I am going to have to give the stereo fitting a bash tomorrow night once the kids are deposited back to their mum I reckon... Anyone know where I might be able to pick up a KS-BTA200 bluetooth addon for the stereo cheaper than £100? I like the idea of using it to handle in car calls etc.

First time I ever fitted anything like a stereo, so hopefully I don't blow something up

If I manage this without any real problems, I may even try the LED Sills myself too

Then the armrest (one piece wasn't there, but Matt's got it and is sending it up) and I reckon I can fit that myself ok too.

Get the bodykit bits painted, then the wheels refurbed and the only bit left to fit (that I have currently) will be the lowering springs, though I might have to beg ormi for help with the kit and springs as I don't want to make a complete ******** of it!

I reckon I might manage to fit the wheels OK though

Oh, and as I said, at some point after the kit is fitted, I'll be going for the paint correction to make it look as sweet as possible

Bits are still coming as well - Jase's detangoed headlights, and his rear calipers (ormi told me I needed one when he did my service a few weeks back), so that'll be another task to have a bash at!

Yeah mate, it's a safety thing, obviously they don't think you should be catching up on films/tv as you cruise along a motorway

Doesn't seem too hard to "fix" though Smile And that should keep my wee girl happy on any longer drives...

How you getting on with yours anyway? John gave you a link for a PDF file on speed cameras for updating your sat nav HU a while back, but you seemed to think you'd have trouble downloading the file IIRC (and it's only now I think to mention it). I mention it cos I figured I would download it for you in case you did have bother. Let me know if you want it and I'll email it to you...

It's too big to attach to the forum (honestly, who creates PDFs smaller than 19.5K???)

Rabster you can do that or just take it to any ground point on the chassis top left bolt when you remove the stereo....

Thanks for the confirmation Rabs - Have some rep Smile

DaveEdin Smile Now the proud owner of a brand new TRD Rear lip (and the fitting instructions look scary!)

Flipping thing is fun and games to fit in the car to take home from Toyota:

However I did get it home, and here's a (badly lit) pic of it unpacked in the garage:

So this and the side skirts are going for paint (probably next week if the guy can fit me in), then it'll be time to fit them.

I have been speaking to a guy about a paint correction (Christian is sadly a touch too far away for me) and will be visiting him on Monday for him to assess the car and give me his price to sort the holograms/swirls etc. I've seen examples of his work and it looks great. Obviously though that'll have to wait till after the side and rear skirts are fitted!

Also sent off a few emails today for quotes on getting the 18" wheels refurbed. They don't look that bad, although there are a couple of wee flat spots on one of them, the rest just need a decent blast and coat job to look good.

I've cut out the bottom spar of the fascia trim and it fits the stereo just fine now. So it's onto the prospect of fitting it now! The bypass lead I have has three plugs, a white one that appears to fit the cable at the amp, and the other two take the outputs from the stereo itself. Does it matter which plug goes where in that instance?

Also, I need the dvd function to work while driving (not for me, for my daughter the co-pilot) and have seen suggestions that I just need to ground the parking brake cable. The easiest option is apparently to strip some wire from the stereo's black (Earth) connection, and attach the parking brake wire there (presumably with a lot of insulating tape covering it?). Does this sound correct?

This video seems to indicate it definitely works after all:

That might require knowing where to find that, or even <scared voice> having to test wires to find it!! </scared voice>

Smile Easy option is the one I can see before I even get near the car

Go give it a bash matey - all you need to test it is to have the handbrake off when you try to play the DVD... Don't even need the engine on, test it in your driveway...

If you're gentle you might not even wake it up with your cold hands

And yes, before anyone asks, "that's what she said..."
