Hopefully not today, since the car had better still be in the car park outside the office in Livingston!! hock:
Sorry bud, my car spent the day in Livingston with me... If you do spot me though, gimme a toot on the horn
Went out to ormi's last night to see about the fog/brake/quad light conversion and fit the wee brackets he made up for the side skirts
Perfect fit, and the side skirts are now 100% tightly fitted and snug
Wee issue with the fog/brake/quad conversion though! The Fog/Brake bit worked just fine, but when ormi added the fogs as tail lights it popped a fuse. So it was replaced, and that went as well... Changed it again and it didn't go. But the tail lights weren't getting any power? Brakes, headlights, indicators, fogs - all were fine. Everything except the tail lights! Nothing we (ormi) did seemed to make the tail lights work, and the "blown bulb" warning wasn't showing up on the dash either!
So all the conversion got stripped back out, and the original setup reinstated. Still no tail lights! Everything else working though! Very odd.
In the end, ormi took a feed from the numberplate light, and got the tail lights working using that, since it seemed that it was just the tail lights that weren't getting the power...
Muchly confused about this one... further investigation required before the conversion is retried! oh and the flipping tail lights decided to stop working this evening as well - only this time the "blown bulb" warning light is actually on...
:confused1: :confused1: :confused1:
Anyone got any ideas?
I did my brake to fog conversion Wednesday evening and everything working fine. I did it a little bit different though in that I took the brake light feed from the feed to my brake light in the boot spoiler. This enabled me to do nearly all the wiring in the boot lid.
Last night did the rear light to fog job. Now this didn't go right first time but is all working fine now. I took the feeds for rear light from the number plate light connections.
Now I don't whether you got your bulb holders from eBay like me but the first thing I had to do was work out which wire on the new bulb holder I had to connect to which wire in the car. The colours of the 3 wires on the new holders don't obviously match up with the colour code in the car. I did the first one and connected it in but I had the feeds from the fog and the rear light crossed and it did some weird things. I quickly worked out what was wrong and it was soon sorted. I don't know whether this was what you did with yours Dave.
Anyway if you have used the same holders as me I can tell you the wires colours.
