Dave's IS200 Sport
That'd be handy Dave... if I have the same holders anyway! These are the ones I bought - any help appreciated!
Am currently without tail lights again... If I find myself out after dark, I'll have to ping on the fogs
Right, unfortunately it looks like your holders are diferent to mine, the wires are diferent colours (that's if yours are exactly as per the picture).
If you look into the holder you will see 4 contacts. 2 contacts at one side will be joined together and one of the wires will be connect to these. This will be you common or negative which needs connecting to the White/black wire that goes to your existing holder.
Now you will have to try and work out which contact and therefore which wire contact which filament of the bulb the thickest filament is the 21w and the wire to that contact needs to be connected to fog light feed, green/orange stripe. The other wire which will contact with the thin filament, 5w, needs to be connected to a convenient rearl light feed. I connected mine to the number plate feed which I think green but can't remember the stripe colour. Either way you don't connect to the white/black wire.
I know this sounds a bit complicated but I think with bulb holder in your hand it should be fairly easy to see what I mean.
I have got some photo I took but I'm not on the laptop at the moment to post them up.
I'm out this evening but maybe tomorrow if your still stuck I will try to be of more help.
Dave
dave can you work a half day on monday and come to mine about 12.30-1 and we'll get this sorted...
i am confused as all fuses are ok in all of the fuse boxes and as dave says all other lights are working theirs just no feed to the rear lights......could the wee box that controles the bulb out light on the dash be faulty?ie voltage going in but not coming out?
I would mate, but it's getting dropped off Sunday night for its paint correction stuff with the guy in Livingston, I don't get it back till Tuesday night...
As you know though, I'm happy to work around whatever works for you
Weird thing is, I've just been out to take a look and see what's what (and grab a pic of the bulb holders for dodgydave) - and the tail lights are going on. The bulb out light is coming on when I press the brake, so presumably it's now the brake light that's out - I can't see from the driver's seat and there's nobody about to press brakes for me to check ...
Even the numberplate light that was out - is back on, along with the tail lights...
Anyone know an exorcism ritual for cars? Cos something odd's going on here...
Oh, and Dave, this is what the wires on my bulb holders look like, there's a green/black one, a white and a black:
aaaaaa fcuk thats were ive went wrong dont think im using that(green/black as an earth!!
top man gord..

If you look into the holder you will see only green/black wire connecting to plate that connects both sides together, other side white wire & black wire

The fingers are well and truly crossed Gord
Once you're done, post up which wire goes where on that holder... remove trial and error
My dad said if they're doing this. It may be the lamp failure relay/sensor that has blown.
The only thing is the conversion is removed and the tail lights are still out..least I know were to start!!lol
