Okay guys due impending sale of lex and impending purchase of a zed, what's the best way of taking my private reg off and swapping to the new car, is it best to swap it straight to the new car or take it off then put it on the new car when I get it??

Thanks samurai I guess swapping it would be easiest, but wouldnt be able to sell my car until the swap has been completed and also ask the owner of my new car if this was to do also Sad

I see, but then you have to pay two lots of 80 pound transfer fees, don't you?

retain the plate, the retention fee includes the next transfer, so you can sell your car, buy the new car, and then put the plate on

Correct. Just like when purchasing a new plate on retention (as I recently did) your assignment fee is paid, so when you wish to put it on a car, you much just inform them and get the plates printed.

and don't go the the northampton DVLA office cos you will need therapy, valium and a long recovery time after trying to get them to do the simplest task in there
