Can I stack HID ballasts?
I've got the slim HIDS4U ballasts fitted, I've got both main and dipped beam done so I've got 2 ballasts on each side. I noticed when I fitted them that the ballasts are slightly magnetic, so I didn't want to stack them on top of each other.
However I need to move them as the ballasts and their respective wiring will be in the way of my induction filter.
So in the interests of space I would now like to stack them, does anyone know if I can do this? Or will it screw up the ballasts internally being that close to each other?
To avoid issues, why not stack them but use spacers to keep a small gap between them?
I would have thought they would be OK to stack, its the heat more then magnetic forces that you have to worry about?
theres a fair gap under the headlights mate you can put them under there and they dont need stacking.
I was consider putting a smal piece of aluminium between as a metallic shield/spacer.
However I'm very impatient so I've managed to just tuck them away (not stacked) under some coolant lines, got a nice wire free space behind the headlight for my filter now
