Niice, can't wait to see this all up and running Smile

Is THIS the magnaflow part you got?

I've been looking at getting one myself as my exhaust guy told me the main cat is the most restrictive part of the OEM system.

Dark Samurai Looking good Jim!
How much of an increase would the meth kit bring?

On its own, none really. The main benefit of running meth is that is pretty much reduces engine knock / pre-ignition to zero, reducing the chances of killing the engine.

However, this also means that you can run more aggressive timings or increase the boost. Which will be handy when I put on my new pulley Wink

Oh and it also steam cleans the engine Wink

Nah thats a whole system...and bloomin expensive by the look of it too :o

Here's the one I purchased: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-5-MagnaFlow-200-...3cb8c4681e

I think if you're planning to weld it to the OEM downpipe you might want the 2.25" one though. I can check measurements of my OEM pipe if you are thinking of buying one.

How do you you get way with putting water in your engine and not killing it? Is it just such a small amount that it doesn't matter? I always thought the 1000 times expansion in volume from water to steam was a recipe for bent...everything.

Aah good I'm glad to see I found the same seller as you used, and yes that was my intention. Just waiting on a couple of quotes but I'm almost certain that buying one of those and just getting them to weld it in (as opposed to them supplying one too) will be the cheapest option Smile

And if you could give your pipe a quick measure that would be most useful Blush

I would think something in the region of £60 would be about right.

I paid £100 to have my one welded in, but that also included fitting of the new downpipe along with new gaskets. I also think it was a bit of a pig job as the piping on my Turboeast downpipe had to be flared from 2.36" to 2.5" in order for it to weld up cleanly.

That sounds pretty reasonable to me, if thats the case I'll probably be ordering one next week Smile

Nice to see Turboeast use nice round figures for their pipes...

Glad you like the downpipe and cat on there. I was interested in buying when you were thinking of selling! So will watch Sprinter carefully too, and see what he gets up to before deciding what to do myself. Still deciding whether to splash out on a manifold or just use a de-catted stock one.

sprinter2012 I've been looking at getting one myself as my exhaust guy told me the main cat is the most restrictive part of the OEM system.

And the cats in the manifold are the second most restrictive part, I'd say!

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

The water's atomized by the time it gets anywhere important so it's not that big of a deal. And it's such a small amount anyway that it wouldn't even make 1PSI of difference when it does expand from the state change.

All forced induction cars should be water/meth injected IMO, it's the single simplest thing you can do to preserve your engine!

^ what he said. Before I fitted the injector to my intake I had it pointing at my windscreen so I could see when it activated during driving. It sprays such a fine mist that I imagine it would evaporate well before bring compressed by pistons.

Anyway, I finished installing it all on Saturday. I needed to purchase a longer length of nylon tubing to run the entire length of the car and across the engine bay. I think the install was quite tidy in the end. The only bit that I could have probably done better was the routing through the firewall.

I fitted water injection to a 2.8litre Ford Capri 30yrs ago, well infact it was steam injection,
I had a water tank that was plumbed into the inlet manifold, the water has heated and boiled by (dont laugh) a 55watt H1 halogen bulb, as the water vapour was entering the engine you could defo feel an increase in bhp due to greater volumetric efficiency, very dense damp air
