Soo...after fitting the meth kit The car didn't seem to be running quite right. If I floored it, it would stumble for a second before laying down the power.

...then I realised what a stupid thing I'd done.

I'd put the meth injection before the MAF sensor, meaning that as soon as I hit boost, the meth would spray onto the MAF, probably causing the engine to go super rich and splutter.

So With a bit of drilling, tapping and careful screwing. I fitted it here:

Slap bang in between the TB and the MAF.

Now it works like an absolute champ. No stuttering, a little bit more grunt and the car makes even more addictive gurgling/popping sounds from the exhaust when coming off throttle now Big Grin

Good work mate. At least you figured out and corrected your problem.

I want to do a full exhaust upgrade on mine (as I have previously mentioned) as those sounds are soo addictive. My little runabout (Pug 106) has a Raceland SS manifold and downpipe, decat pipe and cat-back (or should that be decat-back?) OMP 2" race system (as used in the 106 Cup races) coupled to an enclosed, ram fed, pipecross induction kit... and the sound is just amazing. It sounds so mean under throttle, like a much bigger car (it is only 1600cc) but it's the pops and bangs when you come off the throttle that I really love, it actually sounds like an old rally car. I want that in my Lexus!

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

Update 15/08

I decided that after rebuilding my Procharger C-1 head unit I'm going to sell it rather than use it in the car. Reason being that I don't trust the aftermarket bearings 100% and I don't want to have to go through the whole rebuild process again 1k miles down the road.

But fear not, I purchased this instead today:

It's a Procharger C-2. Newer design, slightly higher flow rates, better bearings, 3yr Procharger warranty....and best of all I paid extra for the mirror polished finish Wink bling bling!!!

I also had to send back my anodised blue pulley as it was for the wrong size shaft. But thats a good thing in a way as I don't think it would look good on a polished headunit. So I bought one of these instead:

On the C-2 headunit, the pulley I purchased should generate 14PSI. More importantly it will start making decent boost at 2k RPM rather than waiting for it to kick in at 3Kish

With that kind of boost I need to think about forging some of the internals, so I kissed goodbye to eating out for a few months and bought a set of JE Pistons and Eagle Rods...

I've also got my TurboEast ESK waiting to be installed as soon as I get some time. It builds up transmission line pressure resulting in more neck snapping shifts. More importantly it stops the car from bouncing off the redline during a 1-2 shift because it got there quicker than it was expecting :p

Naaaah, not unless you wanna come and help? I pulled off the old one the other day myself. Its not too bad once you get the fan assembly out of the way.

I'm probably going to get an aluminium racing radiator, a new waterpump and some lightweight PS/AC/ALT/WP pulleys at the same time too. That way I can install everything in one day while it is all off.

Rods and pistons should be turning up in about a week, whereas the Procharger will be about 3 weeks as they custom make every one.

Haha totally, and then you proceed to blame the wife because you think she's bought some new shoes.....which then draws her attention to what you've just bought. DOH!
