Course for that to work, someone at JAE will have to take a look and work out what it actually does...
I do wonder if the previous owner of the car had modified it and then returned it to standard for selling on...

Dark Samurai Looks good mate, what's the other crimped power lead running? Amp if you have sub/speakers?
Way too small for stereo install. Could be virtually anything else though! Obviously an aftermarket mod of some kind, but could be something in the engine bay, or in the cabin. Something still active, or wiring from a previous install that was never fully removed. If it is redundant, then it probably shouldn't be wired to the battery, as that would make it live! If you have not fitted it yourself, I have no idea, couldn't even hazard a guess! Though if I had to.... some kind of phone car kit. Try to trace the cable back if you can, see where it goes, or at least in what direction!
EDIT: On closer inspection, it looks like it goes to the right, over the main -ive lead, and down through the grommet into the cabin? Ruling out HIDs, but car kit is still in. Do you have any electronic gadget add-ons in the car anywhere, that you know about?
