Project 'Koshin' - Mazda Eunos 1.6i
Well, where do i start.
Saturday morning got up to James's to collect the mex. Started her up and all was good, sounded so sweet and smooth. Took it for a quick spin and put some fuel in her and went back to speak to James. Had a good look over the car and all looked good. With that i handed over the money and left for home.
Started thinking about how i was going to spend the next week getting everything ready for JAE and getting the car cleaned up and ready to enter show and shine.
Driving down the M3 on the way home and the traffic was looking bad, ended up in the outside lane stopped in traffic. about 10 minutes of slow moving traffic the car started missfiring. Managed to pull into the next service station and pulled over to look. Checked the leads and everything seemed ok. Drove another 1 mile down the road and by this point the smoke out the back was huge. Pulled over and called my bro. 10 minutes later he was there and with a spare set of plugs and leads. Changed them over and the car stopped missfiring, however the vast amount of smoke out the back hasn't stopped. Nursed the car home and was on the phone to James. When i swapped the plugs over cylinder number 4 plug had oil on it. Left the car running at home for about 5 minutes and checked the plugs again and looked down into the cylinder with a torch. Oil in the cylinder, really ****** off now with this car! Have spent too much money as it is and now im back to square one. James is getting the car collected either monday or tuesday and has already said that if its a problem caused by something they have done they will be fronting the bill. If not then they will be part funding it.
They are going to try to still have the car ready for JAE but i really think its unlikely now so we will be coming in Sarah's Yaris. To say im upset is an understatement right now. I also haven't had the chance to do ANYTHING on the house this weekend. Im not the sort of person who can just kick back and do nothing so this weekend has been a pain in the ass as im so frustrated!!!!!!

terrible news mate! Fingers crossed they work a miracle
Sorry to hear that mate. I've been there before with 5's so know how ****** annoying they can be.
Chin up mate, at least you can drown your sorrows at JAE
speedfreek at least you can drown your sorrows at JAE
Thanks for the comments guys. I bought a 5 as i thought they where good little cars and this one looked like a minter! If i can just get the engine sorted on this the car would be epic. Its the best 5 i have seen to date, paint is very good and no rust what so ever but this is driving me nuts. Its lucky that me and Sarah work in the same place as otherwise i would be screwed for getting to work.

Well had a call from James a few hours ago and the news is bad!
They have finshed rebuilding the engine for the second time and its still smoking like a beast Looks like its a piston ring thats gone. So basically the guy who supplied the engine has sent me a shitter. To say im upset is an understatement. I have sent a very looooooooong email to the guy expalining whats happened and trying to see where we go from here but i am so fed up with this car now its unreal. Im actually considering breaking it and getting shot of it. Will break my heart to do this but its almsot at the point at which im spending more money on fixing the car than what the car has cost me to buy. I really want to get it fixed and keep it but my heads telling me not to put anymore cash into a already sinking ship.
I have been without a car now for over 4 weeks and im going mad, i am properly upset and i just really don't know what to do. I love the car to bits but its just a car at the end of the day.
James has very kindly forked the bill for getting my car recovered and for the work he has put into rebuilding the engine for the second time. I just need to pay for the parts he supplied.
I really am stuck now as i don't have the time or money for this, but i don't have a working car!
