Right people need some advice.

Basically in the new house ive run ethernet to behind all the teles in the house, they go back to a switcher unit attached to my router, and also my "WD my book" harddrive.

Now i can watch films directly from the hard drive through my network with my xbox but i want a small box that does that so i can have the same feature on the other teles in the house.

needs to be pretty cheap and simple so the missus can use it lol

what can i get?

thanks

Maybe a bare bones shuttle pc you can spec up particularly for the job? And look at mythbuntu when considering software for it...

Mazda 6 MPS - Zoom Zoom!

Modifications
Completed:

Currently 280bhp/295lbft; 3" Meercat custom exhaust; KW Suspension; FMIC; SSP; HPFP; Custom Stainless Steel Dials - for the moment, the only set in the world!! (Till the group buy for MPSOC anyway  )

In Progress:

E-Tuning remap ongoing via Cobb Accessport; Braided brake lines; Stubby aerial; Tinted repeaters and sidelights; 3 Port Boost Control Solenoid; 3" HTP Intake

I use twonky software though have heard the one mentioned above is good too. Pulls files from phone and laptop etc to tv.

Just get a cheap hdmi streaming box gadget. Plenty on ebay, sorry can't recommend any specifically. I've got one in my bedroom, but it's older and not that great!

Spend a little more and get a web connected blue ray player, thats what I use in the living room.

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

I need 2 though and have to be simple for the missus.
Don't watch a lot on discs to be honest.

Got a link to any of the streaming boxes so I know what I'm looking for?

I recently bought one of those for my parents. It seems they are able to use it, which means it's VERY easy to use Smile

At home I've got a TViX HD Slim S1. It's a bit more advanced but still easy to use. I've also heard good things about the D-Link Boxee.

Those WD TV ones are similar to what I meant. As long as they are network linked. No link at the mo as on phone.

I occasionally play disks, but primarily use the blue ray to go on youtube and as a media sever interface, similar to what I think you want. My sony one is great. Was £99 last christmas, so with it being an older model now, ebay clearance or second hand could be a bargain to be had.

I don't want to spend much and don't need a disc player built in to be honest.
Like the netgear but as I need 2 a but pricey. But that's the sort of thing I want thanks
