Can I pike some off your grandparents ?

Well yesterday Suki (the bronze NA) had a service .. they said there was nothing much needed doing at all and changed the oil 'cos I insisted but it didnt really need it, I like to go into winter knowing all the important fluids are ok because she will sit around a bit when the worse weather hits. I was expecting them to say two front tyres but she seems to be driving on her rears 'cos yet again, they are fine. The rears were new recently so that was a bonus. She did need rear brake pads again.. flippin supras eat them! Or maybe it was Jim when we went tunnel running, wore them out lol Can't possibly be me, I don't do that braking thing too often, makes my wheels dirty!

Then today, Sachi, the purple one went in to get the idle control valve cleaned up to hopefully stop her stalling on me on roundabouts. Anihilation is not on my list of objectives for that car and this is dangerous. They cleaned it all up and took her out .. and she stalled!! Yes ! I am so happy .. A) that she didnt get whacked up the backside when she did and B) that she did it to JPS, cos they have been half wondering if it's my imagination lol. So she has a new valve and seems fine so they took her for her MOT.
Unsurprisingly she passed with flying colours, no advisories and a comment about how she looked so brand new she shouldn'e be being MOT'd yet lolololol ..

I love supras Smile

Trans Am needs an MOT sometime in December, that will be interesting.

I haven't updated this for a while .. mainly because the news wasn't good and I've been upset ... Don't worry she isn't written off but..

The new idle control valve changed the problem slightly, it obviously had been an old one and was wearing out but it wasn't the root problem. Sachi still stalled (and it's an auto Moley, I'm not that clever to be able to stall an auto lol).. so she went back to the workshop.. JPS had been concentrating on the electrical aspect as a starting point as it was the only area we hadn't really overhauled in a big way but Jsj24uk/Fluff and I were talking this whole thing through one day and began to wonder if it couldn't be the power steering pump, it wasn't replaced in the rebuild and had done a lot of miles .. we wondered if it could be holding the belt back just enough to make the car stall.

JPS agreed it could very well be that, Leon had driven it at different times of day (less busy) to me and had avoided speed bump areas so he wasnt having to slow right down as much as I was. He swapped the pump for one of his own and low and behold - amazing difference and no stalling, so we ordered a new pump and fitted it. I was hoping to get the car back next day but instead I got a phonecall. Leon had driven it and was convinced there was a small tapping noise, he wanted to investigate before he returned the car to me. The next day was even worse.. He called to say the small tapping had turned into a loud knocking and this was serious, car had to be stripped down again Sad

Bearing Shells were shattered to smitherines and there was considerable damage, it was going to have to be rebuilt again. The crank was damaged and all sorts of miserable sounding problems that just made me cry.
