Here are my Defi gauges and HKS boost controller
I have a AEM gauge which you can just see in the first pic in the air vent too
As usual, plans have just changed!
I just bought a sat nav housing and screen for £100! So, my idea now is to put in a 7inch android screen, the relevent app (can't remember the name of it!) and OBD2 bluetooth transmitter.
Anyone got a write up and know what i need?
Torque is the app you want... £3 for the pro version
Yeah, i found it Dave, my problem now is finding the right tablet to fit in the unit. As sparky just told me, one that turns on and off with the ignition, and above all, one that fits! I'd like to hardwire the usb to obd wire to it, but I'm thinking this will protrude somewhat?
Ask on the Torque forum. Ian's got a shed loads of tablets he's playing with at the moment. They even just sent him a blackberry playbook to write for.
There will be something you can do like have it on all the time (just charging won't flatten your battery very fast at all) and then wake up when the bluetooth unit wakes up to pair with it.

I have also discussed this idea with Stav. I want to fit a Samsung Galaxy Tab into my screen housing. It would be nice if it was removable, so you can use it as Tablet as well, (these new Samsung Tabs are not cheap!) but I'm not sure I can find a smart looking removable installation, the power in and audio out cables being the main issue, so think it will have to be fully built in. I am not going to do this for a while, (and also for that cost could maybe go full PC install!) but am waiting for my misses's contract to run out so I can use her Samsung Galaxy S phone to output to the 7" currently fitted to my housing, using the phone as a touch screen control pad of sorts, mounted bottom centre of the dash, below heated seat buttons (and the other 7" screen!) with the screen of the phone replicated on the screen. I feel this a good temporary solution for music/video/satnav etc.
I don't want to do anything as flash as a galaxy tab, I want to perma mount it in there and therefore a cheap tab will hopefully do?
Also, it will only be used for torque app, I'll have a look at a few forums and see what they suggest, my main concern is that it will fit, turn off and on automatically and i can somehow get the usb in there
