Last saturday we fitted a Torsen diff and a brake proportioning valve, it was a piece of cake. There were two allen bolts in the diff that were a pain in the ass to remove, but apart from that it was all straight forward.

We fitted the brake proportioning valve on the front line to reduce the front braking performance.

Why would you do something like that? Well, when you're driving on ice you don't want the front wheels to lock up as soon as you touch the brake pedal, because then you can't steer at all. If you shift some of the braking performance to the rear you can hit the brake pedal hard to both reduce the speed and make the rear end kick out so that you can go into a corner at an angle.

That pictures exactly what I was after mate.

So the back line from the cylinder goes to the front brakes? Does the car have working abs?
I'm wanting to fit a line lock in but wasn't sure which line went to which brakes.

Glad I could help mate. At first I thought about fitting the valve near the ABS unit, but it's got like a thousand brake lines connected to it so I just got more and more confused the more I tried to figure out which line went where.

Then I tried figuring out which one of the brake lines on the brake cylinder I should use. I couldn't find anything about it on the internet, so I just fitted the valve to one of the brake lines and did some hard braking on the gravel. The front wheels locked up and the rear wheels didn't so I moved the valve to the brake line you see in the picture. That's apparently the front brake line. Now we can reduce the front braking performance to as little as 57% which makes the rear wheels lock up before the fronts.

Because the valve has a lever rather than a knob it's easy to remember which position is good for racing on ice and which position is good for normal track use.

Excellent, I couldn't find about it either (I did open a thread about it) was just going to test it myself.

I'm installing a roll lock on mine, was going to do it after the abs as well but the roll lock only have one inlet so I'd have to join a pipe which would remove the abs and I don't really want to do that.
