eogbaker dont understand why you are doing this when you said your sand blaster guy will do it for £10 a wheel.... I would of bit his arm off at that price

Because sand blasting is too rough if you want to polish them, it leaves them really pitted which is just giving yourself more imperfections to remove.

In fact sand blasting is technically too rough if your going to paint them. once you've blasted them you have to flat them back and then use a high build primer because sand blasting is so rough on the wheels.

That's why the BBS were blasted because they are probably going to be powdered.

Chris0121 Haha u didn't hear that from me =P I did an inlet manifold once on my mr2 and it took forever but was so worth it and Atleast with wheels you can admire them all the time (unlike my engine lol) gotta love those wheels though one of the best designs ever I think will look sick fitted oh and bandit put this on Facebook once might help a bit more

that's basically my plan too.

sand out all the imperfections with 180grit then sand out all the 180grit marks with 220grit then sand out all the 220grit marks with 440grit etc etc etc until 3000grit.

THEN I can start polishing!

thanks for the tip though!

No probs can't wait to see them fitted if I lived closer I'd give you a hand mate its hard but satisfying work and quite relaxing lol

So your tuckin 15's, that's cute but come back to me when you get some proper size wheels

I've also decided I'm going to fit one of these:

inbetween my AFR and Boost gauge:

I'll obviously have to check sizes/dimensions etc to make sure it will fit but if not ill just put it somewhere else.

STILL sanding the first centre, so I thought I'd give people an idea of what state this centre was in! The previous owner had stripped the chrome off but by the looks of it he used an angle grinder ... and a blindfold!

and this is as far as I've gotten with the 180 grit:

I also decided to remove the casting marks:
