sprinter2012 The fuel consumption I could live with as it's not that much worse than the IS200 but you get twice the power.

And the service intervals are a pretty standard 10K/12 months for the FQ-300.

But I've been told there are bits that need upgrading/changing like Conrods/MAF sensor/Diff pins/Timing chain etc.

Mate, the fuel consumption if you travel without the foot down is almost double of the IS200!

With the Evo you will never drive economically :whistling:

Mazda 6 MPS - 2.3 turbo, AWD, easily tuneable (350bhp easily), picked up for circa £6/£7k

I got 20mpg on a sensible run to Weymouth and back a couple of weeks ago in my IS200, and the reviews say that over 20 is achievable in the Evo if you're sensible.

But then how often would you be sensible in a car that does 0-60 in 4.7...Big Grin

If they did a new shape Mazda 6 in MPS spec I'd get one, but I'm not really a fan of the styling on the old ones.

I'm not dead set on the Evo, but the Audi A5 2.0 TFSI is the only other car I'm liking at the moment.

Only 20? I get more than 20 about town, and 30 on a run to Leeds and back recently

That was with the Greddy Ti-C exhaust fitted so I wonder if it will improve now I'm back to stock...

I doubt highly an exhaust would affect a car to the point of 10mpg, especially if it's only cat back?

The 3mps mk2 would be better choice, big power and spec for your dosh and good mpg's

There's not really that much choice for good looking fast Japanese saloons unfortunately. The newer Impreza has good performance but I don't like the look of it.

Most of the cars that match the spec I want are all German, Audi A5, BMW 335i, Audi S3 etc.
