i'm wondering where the water would go from inside the car where the heater-matrix is, would i get wet carpets or would it be directed to run outside of the car like an over-flow pipe?

Just an update after sealing the cap yesterday, i had a little gurgle from the matrix this morning but none this evening, hopefully the cap was the cause of my issues and not the head gasket, i'll keep an eye on the coolant level and order a stat. thanks for the help guys Smile

Fingers crossed.

Many unscrupulous garages would have charged a new HG to unsuspecting people.
