You don't want a router as routers make connections between 2 different networks and you want all your stuff in your house and your shed on the same network. You want a wireless access point.

Some routers can just be switched into access point mode through the web interface, but usually the ones the ISPs give you don't allow that sort of thing.

I specified one of these for a job at a remote office recently. Set it up as a standalone access point, with the same name, security type, and passphrase as your current wifi network and job done! 2 yr manufacturer warranty too.

I could do with one of those my self, at the moment i have a second Wireless router extending my network but its not ideal, i only used it cos i had it available and new it was possible, but its fiddly at the best of times and the network is unstable too.

All i did was run a cat 5e from my UPC router to the second router and switched off DHCP on the second router and sorted out the ip addresses, and it works, but as i said already its not ideal, the network is very unstable and the setup is fiddly, so i may even look into one of thes range extenders...

Just to be clear, I wasn't suggesting to use that particular device as a range extender as that won't work in the OPs case. To function as an extender you have to have some overlap in the wireless coverage from the ISP router and the access point, which I don't think is the case here. It might work in your case, though.

The OP should use the device as a standalone access point due to the lack of overlap. All NAT & DHCP functionality will be taken care of by the ISP router.
