I have an extender I think. I ran a cat5 cable from my router to the kitchen door so I could get signal In the garage. But ive ended up with 2 networks. Can I fix this to one?

Do they both have the same name and encryption settings? If they match, then client devices should just roam from one to the other. Quite often when doing this people mix up "WPA and WPA2", or "WEP and WPA", or "WPA or WPA2" which are all different settings.

No different names, both wpa2.
If I give them the same name will it just switch automatically to thestrongest?

In theory yes. The client driver has a value called 'Roaming Threshold' which some wifi cards let you change (so it will jump from one to the other more or less easily). If you go into the properties for the wireless card in device manager you can see if you have those options. It's entirely up to the client device as to whether it roams from 1 to the other, but that is how it's supposed to work. I would keep them on different channels, but make all other settings identical.

Hmm I mainly use iPad and iPhone so prob can't play in the settings lol. Will name the, the same 'pretty fly for a wifi' and go from there lol

There are some amusingly named networks around where I live. The one that sticks in my head is called "NI**A GET YOUR OWN WIFI". Mine's just called "Bob"!

Right o its working,

took my ps3 down the shed last night and got it working on the projector with internet (wired) so well chuffed about that,

ive orderd the TP Link wireless access point
10mtr hdmi cable
10mtr twin phono
hdmi splitter

also already have one of these Linky with a wireless keyboard and mouse so this will be connected through the splitter to the projector for general stuff so dont need to take the ps3 down there to browse the interwebs and stream stuff

next part is just tidying up all the wiring and sort out the speaker system for it

Video of the android mini pc system would be good for car entertainment to i would think but the only think holding back is the video plays through the hdmi so need a connection in the car unless it can be switched to usb or simular
