01-04-2021, 03:10 AM #343I'm not a drifter at all anymore, with three cars and tyres at £300 each! The drift wing provides downforce and when you have a car as fast as mine and so light on the back end, downforce is a very useful function.. Mines a race wing !

And I waited a very long time ... no-one was more relieved than me when I did actually like it once fitted.. although it does definitely need a few layers of lacquer polished off, it's too purple.. yes I am saying something is too purple!

So Sam, now you've got the drift wing, does this mean your also going to completely wrap the Supra in chrome effect vinyl Stickers....... It seems this is the only direction you can go once you've fitted a DRIFT WING!!!!!!

Suki has ticked along nicely as usual. Treated her to some newer headlights recently, thank you Racestyle for fitting them. She's has a little rust bubble on the sill for a while and as little rust bubbles do, it's grown so she will have to go visit the bodyshop at some point
She's way over due a service too and was in need of some brakepads so she went to see her doctor today and got an oil change and pads and the ok from a general checkover Gotta love that car, she is such a diamond.Sachi - well took her into see her doctor too to talk about this failing gearbox issue, she got an oil change and a once over while there. Leon hasn't seen my driftwing and wasn't keen on my plan at all but he instantly said it looked amazing, especially from the front and he liked it. I also bought a special aluminium undertray created by SRD for supras ages ago and had it shipped to Leon so we set about fitting that. It is designed especially for supras an particularly with my front bumper ... but it's never that easy is it lol. All the holes it's supposed to be bolted on via have previously been drilled out so none of the bolts supplied fitted. The alternatives were impossible to get to from the underneath to hold the bolt still to be able to do the nut up, so he ended up welding the bolts in so we could fit it and just to add to the fun the bar we took off to weld the blts into, broke all it's fittings coming off so we had to reattach that differently. 'This'll be a ten minute job' turned into a couple of hours.
He did give me some good news on my gearbox though, well probably not but a little hope. It's been hesitating to engage - pesky thing even rolled back on a slope the other day, that surprised me a little! I was warned before we started the rebuild that it was possible it wouldn't cope with the additional power I'd have and would need upgrading, or even that it has done almost two hundred thousand miles and didn't get rebuilt with the engine so it might just have had enough.... so this isn't a shock to me but I'm not in a position to afford the upgrade needed to run all my power so I was thinking I'd have to chuck another the same in for now and be nicer to it. However when the diagnostic tool was plugged in I had a lot of speed sensor warnings on the gearbox .. and we're wondering if the rpm and speed sensor is just intermittently faulting and the poor car is confused about whether she's moving, how fast and what gear she's in, hence the hesitation. This might also be contributing to my stalling problem - whoever said you can't stall an auto, never met Sachi! These sensors are expensive and would be wasted if it turns out the gearbox is just too tired so he's going to borrow some and we'll try it out.
