Does anyone have a line on or know of a supplier of the 1g-gte pistons? Been searching for a while and no luck. Any ideas would be awesome thanks.

Unfortuantly they're extremely rare.

Ikengineering on eBay do uprated rods and pistons for the 1gfe that will fit.

Wow, thanks guys! Super fast responses, I've been searching for something like that for a while now. Haha. So these pistons are the same specs as the 1g-gte pistons? As far as compression height, rings lands, and dish?
Thanks for the help again.

Nope, these are better, you need a 1mm bore for them to fit but theyre stronger

Ok, I looked them over on the website and it seems he has made some good upgrades to them, yes besides the 1mm overbore needed they have the same wrist pin size and over dimensions seem to be the same. I put in and email to him and am waiting to hear back. Thanks again, this is going to be a fun project!

So looking further at these pistons the compression height has been changed to fit the longer length rods? So these pistons couldn't be used in say a stock 1g-gte bottom end on the stock 1g gte rods?

the rods should be the same length. compression height is determined by the cup in the top of the piston. they are dished/cupped to create more room between the cylinder head and the cupped surface of the top of the piston so you can compress more air into the cylinder. they are less noisey as your not slapping a flat piston against the head.

From what I have been taught "compression height" is the length from the top of the piston to the center of the wrist pin bore. So I need a piston that is the same in that dimension as the 1G-GTE pistons, it sounds like the IK setup has longer rods and so this distance has changed and won't be the same as the 1G-GTE. Ugh, I hope I'm wrong, still waiting on and email back. I'll post up what I find out, but if anyone knows something more about these pistons that'd be awesome.

Also is there any specs on the 1g-gte's besides the fact that they're forged? I believe they have a -7cm dish in them, are 75mm std, and have an 18mm wrist pin, but that's really all the info I can find.
