Exhausts and general fab
First of all. Not too sure if this is the right place or if there are rules about posting something like this. If I'm breaking any please let me know!
Been on here for a while now and I thought it was time to give something back. I work in motorsport as a fabricator working with aluminium, steel and stainless steel. Welding, forming, folding, the lot.
I love doing exhausts though, especially manifolds. Here is a mani I made for my altezza. It's made out of 0.8mm inconel which is about as exotic a metal as you get for exhausts and quite hard to work with.
I made the flange by hand, also stainless. Shaping the outside with a grinder and machining the ports and holes manually on a mill. Took a whole week! turns out stainless is quite hard to machine

The collector I made for it
The rest of the system. Mine is 2.5" but I've also made a 3"

I had a look for exhausts and I have no idea where japspeed get £2000 for an N/A manifold as it costs considerably less to make them. Especially for a big company like that and MIG welded. I can do N/A manifolds, equal length, unequal length whatever you want and turbo manifolds.
For turbo manifolds, I would need you to provide me with the exhaust flanges and the turbo flange.
For N/A manifolds, obviously I only need the exhaust flange.
I have an altezza so I can't make a downpipe as I won't have any reference points but we might be able to work it out.
N/A £600
Turbo £750
Twin scroll £1100
All 304 stainless TIG welded. However for twin scroll or big power turbos I would recommend 321 stainless as it is better with temperatures but it is more expensive so it is entirely up to you. 304 will last ok but 321 will last longer.
I plan to get a kit from icengineworks which would allow me to come see you wherever you are, make a manifold then and there, take it back and remake it in metal so I won't need your car.
I can make anything else you want as long as I have a decent drawing with dimensions.
Any questions feel free to ask
sounds great. Sad enough i live in the netherlands. but i would be interested in a better manifold for the is200. Running a supercharger setup but still have an oem de-catted exhaust manifold. The pipes have a small diameter.
I think i can have better power with a good manifold with equal runner lengts and a bit longer runners then the oem ones.
Maybe if someone let one made you can make 2 and i will take one.
i cant miss my manifold and i cant just go to UK to let one made.
Ah that's a shame. I'm more than happy to make two if someone is interested in one. What is the size of the standard pipes out of interest? I'll need to get a press tool made to expand the Stubbs to bigger diameter.
You can see some gains with a nice exhaust and move the power band about a little. I noticed a difference in my car after fitting my manifold. Not so much with the rest of the system although it is as free flowing as possible.
Only just seen this thread and that is some amazing work mate! I think if people may also be interested in inlets/outlets for their chargers.
