USB+Serial to 2.5mm Jack Data Cable Help!
USB+Serial to 2.5mm Jack Data Cable Help!
I have an old Microfuzion speed camera detector which is a great GPS based detector which comes with free updates for life. The only problem I have is that the update cable is as above a USB and a serial connection which then merge to a 2.5mm jack that goes into the device. If I look for a standard USB to 2.5mm jack "data" cable then will it work or what are the alternatives as you don't see any PC's with serial connections on them anymore??
Thanks guys

Should be fairy universal I reckon. Have you not got a cable then?

I've got the original cable which is a 2 into 1 basically. Don't have a serial port on my laptop and the PC that I have which does have a serial port is currently out of action so just wanted to make things simpler really.

You can buy a decent quality usb to serial cable for about £10. Don't buy the dirt cheap ones they are awful
