TTE charged IS200 -problems - Misfire/ judder
right,
recently bought a charged is200!
on the way home i went to boot it and at 4/5k revs it would almost stop dead in its tracks and misfire and judder - almost like a safe mode?
ecu light came on and the trc off light was flashing!
i plugged it in and it threw code p0105 up - which i presume is either map sensor or i need to fit a Hks or similar fuel cut defence!
do you think these could cause my problems? or could it be plugs/coil/injector related?
also if i put the car in 'snow' mode then it doesnt misfire or judder or cut even when booting it, but obviously in snow mode its slower!
any help would be very very much appreciated!
thanks
That sounds like your fuel cut mate, mine did the same when i wired in the HKS FCD wrong? but was great when i rewired it the right way
Do you have the HKS FCD or do you still have the original TTE black box wired in?
The TTE black box does seem to pack up after a while even though its supposed to be better than the hks version?
But if it has packed up the HKS one will work fine and do the job? Might just have to play with the settings a bit on the HKS version, I had mine set to number 10 on the dial on mine and worked great :thumbup1:
I think some of the members on here will be able to tell you how to wire up the HKS-FCD for your charger mate then all will be good. That is what I and most of the other members with a charger use
But a lot of them are away to the Ace Cafe meet today so you might have to wait till tomorrow for an answer to your problem
almost certainly the black box failing.
if you open the engine bay and look in theecu box in the bottom right hand corner there should be a black box tapped into the wires. It may be stuff down the side, but look for something attached to four wires. it should be pretty obvious.
you need to replace that with a HKS FCD STD
The reason it doesnt do it in snow mode, is that in snow mode your throttle doesnt open enough to create much boost so you dont reach the fuel cut.
Genius Stav. I was wondering why Snow mode wouldn't be affected.
did your car used to work properly?
did you take it for a test drive before you bought it?
it is a possibility its been removed, you need to look for a Green wire with a red Tracer (line) on it. that wire needs to be cut when installing the FCD/tte black box so there should be a join in it if they've removed it.
Those bolts on the ECU box have security-type heads, don't they ?
The securing plate that covers the ecu does mate, but the box uses 10mm bolts to hold the lid on, so when you remove the cover you can still see the wiring from the ecu and the black box/fcd if fitted
