OK here starts the next evolution of the yellow MR2 i have just bought:

The exterior is done, really nothing to do to it as the previous owner did a cracking job.

Interior: A few broken plastic bits and pieces, door handle trim surrounds and the plastic trim next to the drivers foot. These are being replaced.

The gear stick was not to my liking so a quick look on Ebay and a yellow and black leather with chrome top gear stick is now in place.

The floor mats were worn so a new set have been put in.

Head unit put in.

Now to really make the car sound as good as it looks:

10" Shallow fitting sub, in a 0.5Cuft sealed box (made by Phil) not sure what colour to trim the box? Yellow or just black, the thing with yellow is it shows dirt quickly. the box has been made so the seats are usable with minimal loss of normal adjustment, which is important.

6.5" components up front. rears removed - they are an insult - such low quality.

4 Channel amp to power the lot. 600 RMS total, so should be loud especially in such a small cabin.

Someone who shall remain nameless ordered the wrong sub he got a 2x4Ohm which would either run at 8Ohm or 2 Ohm - no good on an amp that isn't 2 Ohm stable when bridged..................... Replacement 2x2Ohm on the way!! We could have used the spare Alpine mono block to run the sub but room is very very limited so I only want 1 amp in the car so the T-bars will still be removable and stored away behind the seats.

Tight install.

There so little room in these cars it is amazing how much you fitten in there!! Getting the MB Quart 10" sub is a bonus just one of these baby's will rock the car panels!!

Sounds nice Big Grin be nice to see the progress. I think i had a headunit in the car for around 2months max and must of only turned it on twice to busy listening to the exhaust  but then again I've never really been into sounds the bodywork was my thing. Saying that the previous owner must of had a sub ect as there was some old rca leads and a remote wire stuffed in the passenger sub box when I got the car allthough he must of yanked it all out as the headunit wiring was a mess so I payed to get it wired to a iso plug do I could plug a headunit in as I didn't have a clue what did what lol

Dnt just chuck the old gear knob as its a genuine greddy trust item i waited nearly 2 months for it to come from jap land, pop it on imoc youll get yourself £20-25 for it easy

Main power cable put in this morning, but waiting on the speakers so there won't be much progress for a while.
