Rabster hmmm ummm have you checked continuity from the conector plate to the cable this can be done with a multimeter and a stanley knife
no need to cut the cable just use a sharp blade and hold the vable on the blade it will make a connection if there is continuity

right all wires re wired, butt this is the prob , no dipped beam at all butt if i earth out the red and purple wire on the multiplug or earthout the same wire on the stalk the dip come on so has anybody any idea at all?, im thinking of trying replacing the stalk next butt dont know, has anybody got a wire diagram for the light stalk at all? cheers
i replaced my theft control unit which controls the lights and tons of other things and that has done the trick
Rabster ok so if you earth it out it works what if you check for power on that cable when you switch the lights/dip beam on ? do you get anything
if not then yes the stalk is at fault if you do then its something else...

cheers steve, ive just been looking at the theft control unit and the same wire ive been checking goes into this. tempted to try this while theres one at the brakers, what do u think?
I would pick it up and give it a go, especially since Aaron found it sorted his problem out.
it worked for me,the fault in the fuse board caused the theft control unit to short causing the lights to fail
