Hi,

Had the MFK Motorfahrzeugkontrolle (swiss MOT) today and the lovely person:mad: failed me on the LH front fog light alignment, he said it was pointing into the sky but when i look at the beam against a wall LH and RH are the same height.

I had a look in the workshop manual but it only shows the adjustment. I didnt see him use a beam aligner on the fogs only the headlights.

Does anyone know the height/distance the beam should point?

Ormi - any ideas?

noope all standard, they didnt coomplain when i imported the car and nothing has changed, i reckon the bloke was being a knobber as im a foreigner.... not unusual for swiss people! yes the lex garage will do it but they will charge about £100 for the pleasure. Ill pop to a local garage where i had the emissions test and slip him for cash to stamp off the sheet i think!.

I also had a look and cant find anything about foglight alignment.

Silly question, but do the fog lights have to be working as part of the Swiss "MoT" ? Don't think they're tested here. Could you just not point them both right down as part of the adjustment ?

I don't remember seeing anything about foglight adjustment in the manual either (where they need to point to, I mean).

You can, they adjust for vertical alignment.

When i worked at the Toyota factory and the BMW mini factory, we used to set the fog lights up at around 4" below the dip beam cut off line ? (if that makes sense?)

Dip beam cut off> \____ \____

Fogs here >>> ____ ____

Like this Dodgy pic approx 4" below
