Thought I'll start a thread on my car hunting, for an IS200.

Budget no more then £2500, the lower the better.

However car has to be in top nick only small scratches will be ok.

Color not too bothered, however Gold, Black would be ideal.

Cream Interior preferred, and Automatic preferred with possible Sat Nav.

Mileage wise I am open depending on its history. Long MOT and tax I think everyone would love to have.

The above sounds specific but theres a few cars out there already which fit the bill and worth looking at.

It would be good to get your opinions and feedback on cars before travelling out and seeing them. There maybe something I miss or even just wanting one may lead me to buy something I would regret later.

Any thoughts welcome......!

I went to look at that silver one which is no longer on Autotrader but sold when I got there.

Now have my eye on this:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/a...&logcode=p

What do you think, doesnt mention anything about service history but what does warranteed mileage actually mean?

Also it says in spec "Park distance control" what exactly is that?

Park distance control is parking sensors, but I can't see them on the rear bumper, can you? Although it also says the car has a trip computer which we know the IS doesn't have unless it's had something aftermarket fitted so best to check everything with the seller.

Warranted mileage means that the documents back up the mileage on the car - MOT certificates and such. But I'd be careful if it doesn't have any form of service history whatsoever.

I read over on LOC that one member recently p/exd his IS200 Sport against an IS250 and only got £2k for it, that had 130k on the clock but it was a W reg and had full styling kit and 18" alloys. Worth looking out for something like that too as I'm sure a lot of people would rather let the car go to a good home than p/ex to a dealer that's trying to make a profit on it.

yh thats what i thought aswell the sensors, but I cant see any, yh when i see the trip computer i just assume the mean the dail in the dash when shows MPG. About the history i wouldnt buy it with no history specially at that mileage

the thing is I never been in one which is black, maybe i will change my opinion when i actually get to see one? or maybe not

Have to agree about the cream, full leather is prob ok but I'd always worry about cloth seats getting stained - also the carpets will always look grubby unless you get black ones.

Marsdendean I'd go for black seats. Cream will be a nightmare since it won't be full leather.

2tongues Black leather all the way mate.

hmmm so nobody likes cream lol, maybe cause I had cream before and loved the color, I never tried a black one, will defo look at black one in person. But you guys are right, it was a pain to keep clean !
