So I'm guessing he's in a country where he needs TUV approval or similar on all his stuff. There's no way you're going to get that on a Turbo on an IS200 unfortunately, but the charger kit is a possibility.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

That's correct, I need the TÜV approval to get it street legal here. I haven't bothered with that on my past projects, (mr2 mk1.5, is300tt, 2jz ma60++), but lately they have had a lot more technical controls about modifying cars. (roadside if you understand). If I get caught with to many HP, I would get a ticket (£1000 ++), and punitive duty AND loosing the license plate..

But as you can see, I have got competition from a fellow Norwegian. He's actually living just a couple of miles from me... So time will show.

About the Tdi TTE kit, Maybe I'll make him an offer for 2000, not including the parts. But from what you can tell me about him, he won't accept te bid..

And as far as turboing the 1gfe engine, I have also thought of that. Maybe if I make something that's easy to remove, but a bit nervous about boosting it to much. :tongue_smilie: I'm reading everything I can get across about turboing the 1gfe, but as I said, it's my daily driver, so I need something that is bolt on.

Most superchargers have ceramic-coated impellors. Once they start to wear
out the tips of the impellors will start hitting each other. Take a look at
the tips and see whether there is any impact damage/wear along the edges.
Other than that it should just spin relatively freely etc

Not sure what else to check would be ideal to see how it perform on the car its coming off.

Marsdendean £2300 is normal price IMO, any more and a turbo begins to become the more sensible option
