You'll soon be knocking them out pretty quick mate, if you can get a scotch bright wheel you'll be surprised at how fast you'll start to get a shine on things :thumbup1:

You'll quite enjoy it when you start seeing the shiny bits start to appear on the parts your doing mate, I was amazed at how fast i could get something that was covered in dirt to look so nice in a little time:thumbup1:

I've even polished the forks on my mountain bike

Yes i hope so.

I have loads of polsihed parts to go onto this, will have polished rocker cover, fuel rail and custom inlet manifold on top, then 2' intercooler pipework running either side of the engine all polished and then anything else alloy on the engine polished.

Was originally going to do most engine parts lime green to match the frame (eventually) but didn't want too much colour and hopefully the chrome should help break it up a bit. Big Grin

Recovery is going pretty good Chris thanks Big Grin Apart from im starting to get Fat sitting around the house all day, will be fine when im back at work and down the gym. Dying to get back to work!!!! less than 2 weeks now Big Grin

*** mini update ***

Well today was a better day, was like a mini crimbo. Started off with my draper multitool turning up in the morning, great service from Amazon. Only ordered it yesterday at about 2pm. Then about an hour later i had 3 packages arrive Big Grin New replacement oil filter, Aero locking fuel cap for the fuel cell i will be making and loads of grinding/polishing/cleaning tools for the multitool.

Got out into the shed workshop and started with the multitool and i have to say its fantastic, for only £16 its worth every penny and then some. Got the oil filter bracket all sanded, smoothed and polished in a few hours of using it. Its not 100% perfect and the bottom is a little less smooth but its not really going to be noticed.

Here is the outcome........

and the Aero filler cap, already changed the bolts over for black hex head ones as i didn't like the ones that came with it!

Have started back on the rocker cover with the multitool and its going loads better. It just eats through it and leaves a pretty good finish. Going to be a few days of sanding but will look amazing when done. I need to get a bigger polishing kit as well as the small one isn't really ideal for large items and leaves slight swirls in the alloy.

Got a few other things that im working on and hopefully the Demon will be back to a rolling shell shortly Big Grin

 i know the fat look quite well mate, since i've been out of work i've gained a stone, but feel good for it :tongue_smilie:

Looking very nice mate, top job you've done there as usual :thumbup1: still got to get my Dremel out and do all the little bits on the rocker cover, but they do work very well and worth every penny :thumbup1:

What do you think of the polishing mate?

I thought it was pretty easy to do, which is what surprised me when i started to do it? Big Grin

Yes the polishing is pretty easy but is just so time consuming if you want to do a good job! I did loads at Uni when i made that chopper model (don't know if you saw the pics?) so know what to do. They always taught us to do it all by hand though so took even longer but the finish was just amazing!
