IS 200 MOT failure
IS 200 MOT failure
I took my IS 200 for its annual MOT today. I was sure that it would notch up another pass, but alas 2010 was not to be.
Brake Failure: Front Brake Imbalance 35%
Last year I replaced the FNS caliper as she was binding on. Some weeks back I decided to replace the FNS sliders as the main one was sricking.
I have already replaced the Brake discs & from pads. thus far the FOS caliper and sliders have not been changed.....
The MOT centre suggested that it was more than likely the offside which was at fault. The figures were much lower on the offside as the figure of 35% suggests.
Anyone else experience this?
I don't know what that is like but it sounds quite high? With that sort of imbalance wouldn't you feel that under braking?
Poss a seized slide mate or sticky piston just strip and clean and that should do it!
Worst I've had was 49% and the customer said he didn't notice.!!!!!
Did the sliders last night, One (the Main) was very tight on the nearside (one of the ones I recently replaced) Until I checked I didn't realise that there was a Main & Sub slider. They should fit in the caliper in a specified position. Used some Copper slip as lube , but I have checked some website who recommend proper caliper slide lubricant.......
