Just been reading about the HG failures on that engine - terrible that Toyota didn't do anything like a recall on it for what is a simple and easy fix.

Apparently you just torque the bolts up higher then the OEM speck!! easy.

Yeah I'm wishing I had got round to doing that when I got the car now, but you also get a lot of differing opinions on this, some say just replace the gasket as re-torquing will just damage the gasket.

Anyway I'm going to take the head of this weekend probably and see what the damage is like.

When the car is working I love it but when it kicks up problems it can get a bit depressing, but it is a 20 year old car.

BHP, TORQUE, UNDER STEER, OVERSTEER FOR DUMMYS
BHP- how fast you hit the wall, TORQUE- how far you push the wall
OVER STEER- Dont see the wall, UNDER STEER- You do see it

Hmm tempting but I bought an afm adapter and universal filter already and its working quite well.
