OK so i have mikeys V6 at the moment as the alternator packed up at the Mod nats weekend 2 weeks ago and he couldnt get it home so it found its way to my place

anyway i have had the alternator reworked new Voltage regulator etc and picked it up monday all good car worked etc

driving it to work this morning i noticed the Voltage gauge was sitting half way (12v) when it was sitting higher before so i took it back to the garage who have taken the alternator off and its been inspected it has blown the regulator again...

no warning lights no nothing so it all seems strange, any tips on what to look for

oh and the sub amp is in protect mode and has been since the alternator blew 2 weeks ago

Have you checked the earth wiring mate? had this on one of my old fords, and was traced to a bad earth to the alternator? not sure why though??

I had thought that so I'm going to strap a new earth on it and run a new feed to the battery the cable did have some oxidation on it at the alterbator plug but the whole thing ran for 3 days and covered at a guess 200 miles.....
